Rolex 24 at Daytona
Rolex 24 At Daytona®
26th - 27th January 2013

The Rolex 24 at Daytona is a 24 hours endurance race for sports cars at the famous Daytona International Speedway at Daytona Beach in Florida, USA. The race is completed around a 3.5 mile circuit, incorporating parts of the Nascar oval, with its banked roadway, and some haripins on the infield course.

As well as the more recognisable GT car field, featuring the latest Porsches, Audis, Cheverolets and Ferraris, the Rolex 24 at Daytona also features Daytona Prototype cars, that feature chassis made by Riley, Dallara and Lola with engines powered by BMW, Porsche, Ford, Lexus and Pontiac.

With a star studded international driver line up, the Rolex 24 at Daytona is a racing fans nirvana. The 2012 Rolex 24 at Daytona, saw a mix of Le Mans, Nascar and Indycar drivers all competing in the one race. Allan McNish, Ryan Dalziel, Lucas Luhr, Dario Franchitti, Juan Pablo Montoya, Graham Rahal, Ryan Briscoe, Paul Tracy, Max Papis, & Scott Pruett all wanting to win the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Rolex 24 at Daytona
With the entry list for this event reading like a ‘who’s who’ of successful drivers in their own field and with Daytona Prototypes gripping the curves alongside GT muscle cars there is definitely something for everyone here. And with relatively small numbers attending the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the access to the garages and pits means that fans can enjoy being part of the event and drivers can focus on their goal in a relaxed environment - almost unheard of in motor racing these days. Being a speedway, fans are never far from the track and with almost uninterrupted views from the 250,000 grandstand seats, great activities, clean facilities and garage access you really are constantly in the heart of this race.

In addition to the new wave of British drivers there is the continuing opportunity for the Suncoco Challenge winner to gain a seat in a Daytona Protototype – the opportunity of a lifetime!  The 2012 Challenge was won by Filipe Nasr, who after his impressive performance at the Rolex 24 at Daytona is currently excelling on the GP2 circuit.
